Default OEM Parts online in Canada?

I just picked up a new truck on the weekend but would like to get a new grill and maybe bumpers as I really don't like the chrome ones. I went to my local dealer but they wanted $790 +tax for the XLT SE grill (JL3Z-8200-SB) when I see that East Gate Ford in Hamilton sells it online for $480. I'm a 5 hour drive so not so convenient for picking things up and I'm sure shipping bumpers won't be cheap. Any other suggestions?

Will Eastgate not ship to you?

If you order online from anybody there is going to be shipping involved....

I'm sure they will, I was just wondering if anyone knew of closer dealers who did online orders at discounted prices. Its probably cost prohibitive ship everything I want as some things (bumpers) are heavy any over sized. A couple of the local dealers I've called seem to be inflating prices. For example, the grill is $480 at East Gate, the two dealers I called wanted $870 and $790 for the same item. Seems crazy the pricing can vary so much. I didn't even bother pricing lights or bumpers with local dealers.

Having Eastgate ship to you or driving there to pick up is still cheaper than what the local Canadian dealers have quoted you. Don't cry per se over money not saved if that is your cheapest option.

But I don't think it is yet:

1. Have you shown either of your local dealer's Eastgate's price and asked them to match?

2. Order from a US Ford dealer in some place like, maybe Ogdensburg and make the run south of the border to pick up.

3. Get yourself set up with a US post office box and have a US mail order house ship there. Then as above make the run south of the border to pick up.

I myself have a friend who has a US box who lets me use it, and have done so for Ford parts with decent savings.

Ya I looked at Tasca parts and shipping the grill and bumpers is really expensive ($300 USD), even to Ogdensburg. I guess I'll just rent a car for $30 and make the 5hr trip to Hamilton early one Saturday morning. It's just such a boring drive, and I've already done it several times in the past 6 months. Thanks for the suggestions though!

There are 3 prices for parts.
Cost
Employee Price
Retail Price

Depending on the part my dealership gives me cost or employee price. I have never paid retail price for parts from them.

Sometimes it is still cheaper buying elsewhere for certain things. Rock Auto even with exchange a d shipping has worked out much cheaper for some items.

I would try to work a deal with your dealership for sure.
