Default New to Forum- Ontario

Hello everyone, new to the forum. I am going to be purchasing a truck very shortly and looking to get some input as to what models or options to get. My only "needs" are 4x4 and possibly supercab

From what I understand, the touch screen navi is only on luxury package models? correct me if I am wrong.

I appreciate any input as to which package offers a good range of options and mod friendly

Cheers!!

welcome to forum! go on the ford site and you can build the truck you want with the trim and options. I ordered the XLT super cab, with the goodies I wanted. or if you want a little more go to the FX4, a very nice truck.

I have priced the xlt, looks pretty good. If you dont mind me asking, what "goodies" did you want? lol
Anyone hear anything about the xl, stx models?

And Darrenmv, If I can hit any incentives/rebates the ecoboost has got me, however I cant justify a $2,200 price tag on EB for only a small increase in mpg..

I have a 2010 SCrew Platinum. I was looking at the FX4, but the features of the Plat and the extra cost was worth it to me. The EcoBoost wasn't out at the time or I would have waited. For 2011 & 2012, there is a 4.5l/100km difference between the 5.0l and EB engines. At an average 22,000km/year x the fuel ratings x $1.25 or so equates to $1,000 of gas savings per year.

This combined the higher tow/haul ratings for the EB engine may make it a better choice in the long-run. But I agree, the total cost still has to be in-line with the budget.

No matter what, I think you will LOVE the truck no matter what trim level. It's still the best built ones out there.

Welcome to the club!

The XLT with the XTR package looks pretty good. Stock is running out fast in Ontario with the $7500 rebate. I ended up with an XLT SCrew with the 3.7 and I absolutely love it. Its my first time owning a truck.

Hey Dan, the ecoboost is cool but I hear lots of happy customers on the 5.0 too. opinions on the eco are all over the board.

I purchased a 2011 super crew with the EB in July and I have never been more satisfied. I have about 9700 miles on it now, 1100 of which were pulling a trailer. In my life I've owned Chevrolet 5.7, 5.3, ford 4.6 and 5.4 and the ecoboost pulls better than any hands down. The most weight I've had behind it was 8100 lbs and the tow/haul braking assist with the integrated trailer brake control is a definite must if you do much towing.

Depends where you live.

Getting late for 2011 but last month I saw one of the high volume dealers around Toronto selling 2011 2WD 5.0 SCabs for about $19K after all the discounts and incentives - figure maybe $23 for the same thing with 4WD.

That's pretty much the same prices they were all offering at year end in 2010.

I had an 2011 XL regular cab spec'd from the factory with a 5.0 L V8 this August. It was cheaper than my previous car. Very 'mod-friendly': I had money left over to buy things like black rims, BBK big throttle body, Airaid Cold Air intake, 3.73 diffs, and - most importantly - custom tuning from SCT
