I have been shopping for about the last 2 months, I had my eye on a screw 6.5 xlt 302a sport 5.0 msrp 58k now that the 2018s are out they are offering that truck for just under 43k however the new finance rate is 4% on 72months and to keep it simple with 0 down. So now the cost of borrowing on this unit is about 6000. making the total cost with tax and financing 54,380.00. I am wondering in everyones experience when the best time of year would be to buy an f150. I'm not in a rush to get a vehicle so I'm thinking maybe its best to wait till end of winter and look at the pricing on the 2018s. I would be perfectly happy with the 2017 sport its just the 4% finance rate is a bit steep.
thanks

Its a gamble anytime of year. I bought in May. 71500msrp got .99 over 84. Paid 61000+ tax. Did get extended warranty "thrown in". 6yr premium. Said it was worth 4000.
Doubt the deal would be that much better now. And I could not wait.

I would start from the assumption that anyone who really wants it can get Ford X-Plan (Canada = 2% over the invoice). All you need is to hold 100+ shares of Ford for 6 months or more. So, I would probably go off this number down. Next, the financing. 4% is probably a reasonable real rate for 6 year fixed-rate loan today, look at the mortgage rates. But, I'd say, if you have some flexibility, I would assume you can lend money to yourself at 2% - either using a HELOC, margin or simply by paying it off earlier. At the end, if you cannot afford that, probably you should not be buying such an expensive vehicle, right?

Ford trucks are selling well now, probably the dealers are a bit less interested in additional customers than before.

Bought my XLT SCREW 5.04x4 6sp 157inch 300a tow and hdpp trailer brake tailgate step
Msrp 52174...got 8500 from Ford and 4000 from X plan.
Got winter package (tire rim tpms) for 39500.
This 12674 off Msrp or 24.3 % off
I was happy with my price...specially that it was stock and was exactly what I wanted and in my favorite Blue Lightning color
