I just picked up a new 2018 Lariat last weekend with the 3.5l ecoboost with 3.55 gearing. I only have 250km on it so far but I hope its better on gas than the 2014 Sierra I traded in. That truck (5.3L V8) with a 2" leveling kit, 3.43 gearing, 275-60-20 Duratrac's was getting around 19.5L/100km over the winter. That's for an all highway, 60km round trip daily commute doing 110-120kph. I think I'm going to skip the leveling kit and over sized tires on the new truck. It would be nice to get better fuel economy.

My life time average is 12.3 L/100km. That includes occasional towing, and hauling a camper. But mostly commuting, 190km per day with both highway and stop and go. I’m quite happy with the mileage. I used to get 11.5, but the mileage suffered a bit when I replaced the stock tires with BFG’s.

That's amazing mileage. This will be my first summer with the truck so I'm hoping to see some improvements from the 15 or so I've been getting in the winter. Best tank so far (December onwards) was 13.8, lots of highway. Unfortunately most of my driving is downtown Toronto...

2011 5.0 4x4 with 369,000km +....... 3.55gears....275/70/17 10 ply....trk weighs just over 6000 lbs all the time........used for work.....as you can see.....
reads today lifetime 14.5 but will go up to 14.8 & stay there until a longer trip home (not city) then comes back down..........
reset trip meters daily as I charge per km & if I look @ trip meters coming home they will read as low as 12.7 but usually 13. 2-3 on each trip!!

275-70-18 Cooper E rated tires. 91 gas and tuned.
I get about the same on my truck but city drive is crazy how it swallows... 20.6L/100km its insane

looked at my numbers again for the winter, combined average for November to April was 21.32 L/ 100. Current tank of summer blend is reading 23L. Truck still has random stall issues. New throttle body has improved the stall situation but hasn't eliminated it, and no codes are ever thrown. Traded a 5.0 on this 2.7/10 speed thinking long term. The 5.0 would consistently get 9-10 on the highway with my driving habits. Live and learn i guess

Update on the mileage.

Must be on the summer fuel now cause most recent fuel up put me at 19.1L/100km on 6 inch and 35s. 95% city. Exhaust has been the best mod/worst mod cause I can't go a full tank of fuel without romping on it.
