True, but I though that this thread is actually about saving the money by buying the, otherwise overpriced in Canada, insurance product from U.S. And if you save the money...you know, then someone is not getting the amount they wanted to get. This is the base of the capitalism, right? Buying the stolen tires is not that kind of saving, of course.

As for the question, it is a contract, so it cannot be changed that easily. My ESP bought from Flood Ford states clearly the geographical area it covers, which includes Canada. And I also tried to negotiate with the local dealer by showing them the identical (almost, except miles/USD vs km/CAD) policy and it costs and offering a very reasonable amount. No, they actually did not want to negotiate at all. Even knowing that the customer can buy that policy in a few clicks. But, to be fair, unlike some other places (not Ford), they did not try to intimidate me by saying something that they "won't honor this warranty here" etc.

How long ago did you purchase it? And have you had to use it yet?

Purchased in April 2017. Did not have a chance to use it yet - 3 year warranty expires in March 2020 and the dealer always gives me a loaner for free anyways. However, at some point I did ask the service manager if he sees the extended warranty in the vehicle's profile and he confirmed it. I was told that the only additional complexity is that they have to call somewhere when servicing the vehicle to find out the exact amount of the money to charge (I have a deductible of $50 US) and they also have to convert the miles to km.

By the way, my friend bought a new Subaru a while ago and he was always servicing it in Canada. For everything under the warranty he was paying to the dealer and then receiving the cheques from Subaru. Probably not very convenient, but he told me that it was always quick so with the credit card he did not have any troubles at all - except the need to deposit the cheques

Anyone had to use their warranty in Canada recently? Looking at buying a US plan in Canada and want to make sure it will be worth it and not to much of a hassle.

I used it last year and had no issues on my 2016 F150, then back in July i traded the 2016 in and was able to get a refund on the remaining warranty from Flood.
I then purchased a Ford ESP on my 2020 F150. No issues
Hope this helps

Did you have a $100 deductible? Was it in USD or Canadian dollars? Did they have to submit your mileage in miles?
