Help!!!
I have 2007 Ford F150 FX4, 5.4 liter. I had an accident back in March where a piece of rebar bounced off a truck, smashed the front grill and stuck into the condenser. Due to confusion with the insurance I didn't realize I had approval to have it repaired. This week, I delivered it to my mechanic. Paid my 500 deductible and the insurance covered 500. For him to install new grill, plastic trim around the grill and the condenser.
turns out, he had 2 days of diagnosing it and said that compressor won't energize and he doesn't believe it's related to the accident. For me to get new compressor plus labor will be another 1000.00.
the Air conditioning worked prior to this accident and I don't understand how after it, the compressor won't energize, I don't even know what that means. I turned on the ac and ir is pushed but it's not cool.
can someone please explain it to me and if there was no issues with the ac prior to this incident how come after it suddenly I have now a compressor that won't work.
could he not have checked that prior to doing the condensor and advised the insurance company that even though paying all this money for condenser, now face a compressor issue.
I believe the two are correlated. I used my ac, even in winter, I have an odd thermostat in my body and find it hot, so I have to constantly be cool and I had no problem with my ac until now. Need advice please someone help.

is this tech...that you took your truck to your choice or insurance told you to go to him
if the tech has been payed to diagnose a problem and does it incorrectly he is responcible by our Ontario laws.... if your insurance sent you to him tell them to fix your truck that is their problem...I had a problem with a tech,s diagnostics and it cost him $1600 .....
