Are you happy with the 5.4 Triton?

OK! So what is wrong with these trucks? Two weeks ago I bought a 2005 5.4 screw lariat with only 39852 miles on it. I went from a 04 4.6 that I loved and never had a problem with. Now reading this, it was me scared. Are these motors junk or what? I have been towing with this truck twice and no problems. Should I be looking for something wrong?

This is my 3rd 5.4l and I have had no problems with them. I had a 99 EB Expedition w 160k no problems, other than the cops. I blew the doors off a Silverado, this morning. I don't know what engine or what year the Chevy was, since I don't know them very well, but seemed to be about the same year as mine.

im pretty impressed by these motors, i own an 06 with the 3v 5.4 in it and its a champ, runs quiet, and seems to do better with weight then without which is weird but nice.
Before i bought this truck i worked for a yard care company which had an 03 with the 5.4 and was a 7700 series, we had a spark plug break while changing them, but other than that the motor was never an issue.
I personally find the weak points in these trucks seems to be the driveline. I had my truck into a shop 6 mths after buying it used and the shop was happy to report my tranny had seen better days, i wasnt surprised as the previous owner towed a 5th wheel rv with it' but unfortunetly that was the same issue with the 7700 which was daily hauling 5000lbs+
At the end of the day though all the proof you need when choosing a truck, or bragging about your own is to look on the road, here in calgary alberta i see at least 3x more 5.4's then any other trucks of that generation. Its a reliable motor, built on a solid platform, minus the driveline.

I wasn't very happy. Had an 05 XLT. Loved everything about the truck except the engine. The way it sounded made me not trust it. And a trustworthy truck is something I value highly. So I traded it in for a 4.6. Couldn't be happier
