Very happy with my 06 with 185,000 miles. Runs as good as the day it was new. I'm confident she will go 300k plus.

I will say, when I bought new in 06 and knew it had 300 hp, I was expecting a little better get up and go.
Now it has 130,000 and after changing out those solenoids, it's quiet and has been running great since day one.
The plug change wasn't that bad, and a couple sensors later, I'd say overall, I'm happy with this engine and it has had the power to do whatever I've asked it to.

Mine has a slight tick but nothing like the 05 work truck I use to have. That thing was horrible, would fall on its face and was really a bad 5.4. I don't know if the plugs have been changed but its at 102k. What's an easy way to tell? Its a lot stronger than the 4.6 I had and has been good so far.

Very happy with my 5.4. Im at 123k miles and she still runs strong. has no problem pulling my 21ft bayliner every summer. I've had the usual issues with the cam phasers but those and the plugs didnt give me to much fuss

Overall a really good engine. Have 136,000 miles and still have no problems besides a slight tick. Consequently this tick is from a bad piston ring. My uncles Chevy 2500 has trouble pulling a double car trailer, so we hooked it up to my 04 F150 and it pulled it 10x better hands down.

So do you think the 5.4 "issues" are blown out of proportion?

I dont think they are blown out of proportion but you have to keep in mind reading these forums that the vast majority of members joined here to find a solution to an issue they are having withe their truck so it will seem as if its all negative. I would have to guess for every one person on this forum having issues there are hundreds if not thousands of happy owners that are having no issues at all. If you browse any forum for any brand all you will usually read about it issues, just the way it works.

Yeah that's why I started this poll...to see how many happy owners there were.

Would it be possible to make this a temporary sticky?
