yet another exhaust thread

i have a 2006 screw and i wanted somthing a bit louder....somthing that will NOT drone out on the highway because i commute 100km on the higway everyday, i want somthing you cant really hear in the cab..and will give it a little grunt outside...i was thinking of a si/so 70 series, just takeing my stock muffler out and replacing it with that, does anyone here have a 70 series on there truck?

thanks

If you run it out in stock location, the 40 series isn't very loud, and doesn't have much drone.

I have a super 44 and there is no drone in the cab. I can hear it if i hammer on the throttle but its not loud at all. Not nearly as loud as i wanted.

i had the same criteria as you, wanted no drone in the cab, but something with a bit of grunt. i put in a super 44 si/so with a 3.5 tip out the rear thinking this is what i wanted. its nice but too damn quiet for what i wanted but it fits perfectly for your description. I also commute about 100 km a day all freeway and do not even notice i have an exhaust that's louder than stock... which is good i guess

I have a 2005 Screw w/ the 5.4. Friday I had a Flowmaster 50 Series SUV welded in, in place of the stock muffler.

I am very pleased with the 50 Series SUV. I was worried about drone and didn't want an obnoxiously loud exhaust. This muffler is exactly what I wanted.

Zero drone at any rpm on my truck. At 70mph on highway you really can't even hear the exhaust in the cab.

When I start the engine it has a nice deep growl and sounds really great when accelerating.

If I recall correctly the SUV is about 8 inches shorter than stock muffler. When the shop cut out the stock they placed the flowmaster to the backend of the void left by the stock muffler and added a short piece of pipe on the inlet side. This moved the muffler pretty much out from under the cab. Local shop installed the muffler for $75. I bought it online for around $130.

I couldn't be happier with how it sounds inside and out.

Hope this helps.

18" Magnaflow

You can buy the muffler for about 85 online, and have it welded in for probably 20-40 dollars...Do not pay more for 150 for muffler plus install if you are just swapping. Magnaflow is quieter and has better flow numbers

ok thanks for the heads up, im from canada so stuff is a bit more pricey here, but im not gonna go over 220 for a swap, and im gonna use the stop chrome tip to keep it looking stock
