Im just curious as to why Ford made this a separate part from the rest of the cowl. It seems kind of unnecessary to produce it this way, not to mention with such crap material that fails on every single truck. Is there some function of these end pieces Im not seeing?

My other questions is this: other than looks, what negatives can come from not having these on? Mine broke off long ago, and I intend to buy replacements, but is there a problem not doing this immediately?

Thanks so much for posting that link to cowl end pieces. For 20 bucks makes no since to make my own.
