Still using factory blades here. I just keep my windshield waxed, and at highway speeds I don't have to use the wipers. About the only time I have to use the wipers is sitting in traffic.

On the passenger side it will allow the wiper to park better & not be hanging off the windshield when stopped.

Don't be afraid to go up a few inches in wiper lengths! It can work just fine!
X4? haha. I live in place where it rains over 200+ inches every year and these are the ONLY wipers I buy. They truly are the best I have ever come across. I am running 20 on drivers and 19 on passengers...I think only because they only had 1 20" in stock.

I do have to say that using rain-x washer fluid has made a big difference. As nice as the new bosch's are, I use them half as much when it rains now. Water just fly's off the windshield.

So many good comments ... I have a 1999 (since 1999) and replaced the OEM's about 7 years ago, I don't know which brand they were but got them from Pep Boys and they were junk from day one... but they lasted about 7 years... kinda.

I just put on RAIN-X brand I bought from Target and they work MONEY! I'm so happy now Rain is on the way and I'm gonna be good to go with my RAIN-X wiper blades

I also had my wife and 13 month old daughter help me Windex the whole front part of the truck, windshield, dash, instruments, etc., family fun time and only took 2 beers to complete.

***EDIT... oh yeah, I use distilled water for windshield wiper fluid. Anyone else do this or similar? My thought is that since the water is distilled it doesn't leave behind water spots or soap residue and it's cheap. Thoughts?

****EDIT² ... just got back from my 1st drive in the real rain. Before when the wipers would swipe across the windshield it would make a terrible racket. Now, I don't hear a peep out of them, they are butter smooth I am SO happy with my $20 investment

I have put on Rain-x Latitude's and while they are very quiet, it seems that the passenger wiper doesn't make contact against the windshield in the area behind the rear view mirror. Its about a 4" wide band that is from the end of its cycle to about 10 inches back to its home.

Has anyone had this issue?

Yeah my passenger side gets replaced one a year.... Sorta...

I always put a new blade on the drivers side and move the drivers side to the passenger side.

Wow! I've had 3 terrible experiences with the rain X latitude blades. They never made great contact with the windshield. They streaked and caused icy spots during storms, and on the highway they chattered. I've been running the bosch and Michelin blades on my trucks since with not one complaint... Are you guys talking about the latitude blades or some other rain x blades?

I like the motorcraft wipers. I got them from the dealership for $8 a piece. They work amazing.
