The lights are not hooked up yet. I noticed the question about them and I should have seconded it. I'm watching the post to see if someone has a good method. I can easily hook them up once it's figured out. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge on this site. I just purchases my F150 and have spent a lot of time reading about the issues with this truck. I know good oil pressure is very important. Once again, thanks.

Doesn't anybody know how to search you can find anything if your not lazy. Of course it is easier to let someone else do your homework for you.

Hook them up with the power and ground from your gauges. Takes like 2 inches of wire and a flag terminal.

Good way to keep new members - by insulting them. I thought looking in this forum was one way of searching for information. I figured the people her were trying to help others with the same problems.

I had thought about taking the light power and gnd from the gauges, but then the lights would be on all the time. I'd like them to come on with the lights. I'll figure it out. Thanks

Using a wiring diagram for the headlight switch, it looks like the light blue/red stripe wire is for lighting. However, it didn't light my gauges. That is why I asked the question.
The majority of people on this board are very helpful. Then there's 'that guy'. Every forum has one. They have some shortcoming that they compensate for by belittling others. You just have to ignore them and roll on.

I gotcha. Wasn't a big deal for me cause my dimmer stays on the highest setting. It all works out for me.

Radio dimmer wire would be my suggestion if you still haven't found something. Simple enough to tap into and probably unused if you have an aftermarket radio. We're not all douches by the way.

Mulestang, we chatted about this a few months back. You still haven't hooked lights up yet?

They're hooked up, but they won't dim. Supposedly, that LB/RS wire is dimmed lighting, but no joy.

Today I finally got around to installing the oil filter pancake with glowshift sending unit. Tomorrow I plan to wire the meter.

Just to confirm a few things.

1. Meter red wire is going to fuse # 22 using add a fuse.

2. Meter yellow is 12 vdc constant. Where did you folks pick that up behind the dash?

3. Meter orange is 12 vdc switched, where did you pick that up?

I will post pics when finished. I ran the sensor wires behind the vac booster to the 2" rubber plug in the firewall. punched a hole in it to get inside the cab. It is above the steering column to the left. I plan on mounting the gauge with velcro on the steering wheel shroud. Pics tomorrow will show its location.

Thanks,
Bernie

What kind of gauge are you using and how many terminals are on the back? Mine just had 3... 12v +, ground, and the switch. What is yellow and orange on yours?
