this is the sound my truck makes. Not my truck in the video, but its the exact same noise, are you saying its the #9 bearing??
Yeah thats what mine does. That guy in that video is a member on here. It was the transmission. Number 9 torrington bearing... Complete over haul on trans

But, I've drove mine for like 2k miles.. Even with alot of towing. And it still drives and shifts like new. I figure someday it will explode.

It's fixed aha!! It was the idler tension arm the whole time. It fixed my tick also( though I'm sure that's temporary) I'm so happy I don't have to hear my baby whine anymore.

Just as an after though it would most likely be powersteering pump issue if you heard the whine while turning, not sitting still. Powersteering pump also has a very distinct noise IMO.

Could you describe what you did or post pics? Are you talking about the idler pulley?

I have had that whining noise in another car and it was my power steering pump low on fluid.

This last time it sounded EXACTLY the same as I remembered, but PW fluid was fine and it got worse and worse until my truck started revving up whilst driving down the road. A new transmission for me. I got my first replacement transmission at 150,000 or so miles, and then had to get another one recently at around 260,000 or so. Admittedly I have never done any preventative maintenance on my transmission. Maybe I'll start with those flushes now.
