does it get louder with acceleration? if so it might be like what mine is doing...and ive been pointed to looking at the yolk on the drive shaft, and recently found out ive got a pinion seal leak (just got the differential resealed too)...

Not saying this is what's happening to you- but mine did that a day before my transmission went out. I'm sure there are a hundred different possibilities but that was what mine was.

Thanks guys, it gets a little bit louder as the rpm gets higher but it completely stops at about 2200 rpm. I hope it is none of these but I guess well find out. However I don't think it's the transmission since you guys are saying it started right before it crapped out. It's been doing it for about 3 weeks.

It could be the infamous rear end in these trucks. Mine has been screaming at different rpms since 75,000 and is still doing fine at 107,000. I even had my mechanic look over the rear end, drive shaft, and rear brakes etc. to which he found no issues. If you research it long enough, you will find that the rear end noise is a known issue, and there is no fix. It is a design issue. hope this helps

Thanks! Hoping that's what this is I'm having my buddy who's a mechanic look at it tomorrow so we will know. It almost sounds like I have a supercharger for a little bit haha. To bad that's not it
