windshield replacement
So this weekend i got a ding in my perfect windshield. Its pretty much right in the middle of my vision. I had the ding filled since my insurance will fill any number of dings for free. However if i get the glass replaced i have to pay a deductible which is 250 bucks. My truck doesnt currently have the F-150 logo on the top of the windshield because the glass has been replaced once before, but i would like it if the glass had the logo. A new windshield without the logo costs 239 bucks installed add another 130 to get glass with the logo. Is there a good source to get a suitable looking vinyl decal from that could be applied in the space where one should go if i only have the cheep glass? I know it wont be the same but it might look better than just the plain glass.

You're at an advantage that your deductable is only $250.00; I opted for the $500.00 deductable.
However, my truck is registered and insured in Florida, and I get free windshield replacements (no deductable) so long as the crack/break blocks the view of the driver. Most states don't do this.

Yep, free replacements in FL. I have a $50 deductible, still didn't need it =).
I wonder, if an out-of-state vehicle has their windshield damaged in FL, if it's still covered for free? Food for thought, I guess.

Free replacement windshields is one of the many things I miss about living in Florida, the free chip fills suck. It might not be worth it to make the claim on your insurance for the windshield since it's so close to the deductible.
OP, I'd recommend considering tinting the brow, as vinyl decals won't look as good since it will need to be installed on the exterior to really be seen. There are guys all over the net that will custom cut vinyl for cheap, if you go that way, check patriotdecals, he may do it.
If it helps in your search, the printing technique for the stock F150 logo is usually referred to as dot matrix IIRC.

Nope. Gotta be a Florida registered vehicle with Florida insurance.

I had the windhield on my 05 replaced about 18 months ago. At that time, the only available replacement was the OEM Ford with logo. It cost less than $300 bucks total and the glass company did the work in the parking lot while I observed from my desk at work!

I've given up on replacing my windshield until inspection is due but I drive an average of 5k/month. I quit worrying about the decal a long time ago.
I've also learned that the "techs" with those companies are likely very new. They have a high turnover, so check it well before you sign the ticket.
