Window only works with door open.
Hello y'all, forgive me for any errors while posting, this is my first time doing this. So my master switch for my 2005 F-150 King Ranch broke a few months ago and I replaced it. It was working fine but as of a few days ago it will only work with the door open. None of the other regulator on the other doors work as well. Does anyone have any ideas, I really appreciate all the help?

Sounds like the wires that go from the door to the jamb could be cracked or broken.
Peel back the rubber boot in the door jamb and look for broken wires  |
THX Phil, I will check them in the AM wait its 3:48am, no in the afternoon lol, thx again.

Wires break inside insulation in door jam --common problem
You may have use a meter and piercing pins to find it . Then spice a new one around it .

Back probing is the proper way to do it ! I live in Michigan, I cant count the times I have had to replace a harness because somebody pierced the wires allowing moisture into it and turning the copper wire green and raising the resistance ! |
x2, wires have a protective jacket for a reason. He could also open door and move the rubber wire tunnel and see if windows start to work again, might narrow your search a little.

Piercing wires inside is a minimal problem
If you are concerned you can tape them or liquid insulation them it takes a very little . There's a lot of bare electrical connections inside truck , none of the equipment inside is water resistant . Outside you have to be more careful . The piercing trailer connections are the worst , uhaul used to do a lot of them .
I learned a neat trick from well drillers , they water proof in well connectors with pvc glue . They tape it then coat it . I have fixed underground electrical cuts with it for quite awhile . I usually use the blue rain or shine as its not bothered by water . If you have gotten the stuff on you then you found out how tough it is, days later you are still removing it . . It's cheap and easy to come by . Sometimes we just make things too difficult . I have only been doing electrical work 45 years so I'm still learning . |

And I have an associates degree in automotive technology ! (and 40 yrs exp.) If you want to pierce the wires on your truck and then try to seal them with something ...so be it.....its your truck ! But please don't pass on poor info to the rest of the forum ! |
We agree to disagree
No offense meant

So I found the culprit wires, they were in the harness tunnel in the door jam area like you said Phil. I looked through all of them and found about 7 in half WOW! I spliced them, and fixed them.
