Default putting 09+ step gate on 07

Thanks for all the replies. I went and checked with a dealer, the gen 12 tailgates will fit a gen11.

However, the parts guy I spoke with said both have torsion springs that can be really hard and possibly dangerous to remove without the right tools. Is anyone familar with working with these?

And they were pretty sure the 250/350 tailgates would also work, but need to measure.

As for the difference in the look of the gen 12 gate, I think the belt bar in the gen 12 would like up with the backup lights, just as they do in the gen 11.

Now to try to locate a "previously owned" gen 12 with the step in good shape to see if everything will fit and cost. New, gen 12 is approx $2250.oo

Good stuff brother. I'm going to see if I can find one and retrofit either the outer tailgate panel to an 09+ or retrofit the handle and step to my current tailgate.

Torsion spring is held in with 1 bold and slide in and out. Mine just broke. Took me about 30min to figure it out.

Probably won’t work. The 09+ have a wider lip at the top that is part of the step.

Default I realize this is an old thread, but....

I just installed one of these on mine. It's the best thing, for the money, I've ever added to my truck....
