Torqued, thanks I LOVE it! It does have a few little quirks but I expected that with a Chinese HU.

Flash, If you can find one it will work just fine in a 2008 any model. Their website is out of stock, nothing listed on amazon, or on Ebay. It is nearly plug and play there are just a couple wires to be switched. If you happen to find one and need any help installing it feel free to PM me.

redfish sorry to kind of hijack your thread. That was not my intent. What did you decide to do? You gonna try software for the laptop or look for a cheap android?

Default No problem- interesting posts

I may have a line on a used android phone for free . I like the torque pro Idea since everyone speaks it on here .I don't have any issues with my truck now but I thought that I should start with it running good .
Now I have to deal with the wifes 2015 explorer exhaust fumes litigation / She doesn't have the problem yet but ford had not recalled or issued a fix .
Problems only go away when you die .

Price is right! Since you have the Bluetooth adapter, you are only five bucks away from a very powerful code reader / scanner.

If you get set up, PM me and I will give you a bunch of helpful pointers to get you off on the right foot toward tapping the awesome power of Torque Pro. The developer of that App did a phenomenal job implementing the flexibility needed to make the tool adapt to any vehicle. I've learned THAT was no small feat given the wide range of sensors / parameters employed by the different ones - even within same models within Ford. I have dug up over 500 available sensors/parameters that can be monitored on our series of trucks by inputting them into Torque Pro. I'll share those with you as you want to expand what you wish to monitor or test on your Ford vehicles.

Best wishes

I will not be able to rise to your knowledge level of engines . But it will keep my brain working . I may be able to keep helping some on here after I learn some more .
It is kind of you to offer, I really appreciate it . My joints are giving me more trouble so I hope to be able to do some more engine work but I will back down as my body slows me up .
I have to see if I will be getting this or another android ,the five bucks is no problem . I just want to be on the same page as the others on here instead of another program .
Now its tax time ,I have to sweat it out over a a week to get it done .
Will pm you when I get it going . I will load lite first then pro as I'm told I should do .

I've never tinkered with 'Lite'. But I understand from the Torque-bhp.com website that there are pretty significant differences.

I think I would probably recommend - dive right in.

I have an Android HU. Here's a couple pictures of it installed in my truck. I have full Google Play store and basically a tablet with a radio and CD/DVD player.
what brand and model number is that I'd love to have one

Have you tried an Android emulator such as BlueStacks? There are other emulators as well. They run on windows so you can use Android apps. Basically it's fooling your computer into thinking it's a cell phone. Bluestacks is also free. And I assume your laptop has Bluetooth?

Install Bluestacks on your laptop, fire it up and then download Torque Lite within Bluestacks. You should be good to go.
Note: Some laptops won't see the OBD Bluetooth adapter in Bluestacks, so you may have to do some tinkering (assuming you have computer knowledge). It worked for my laptop. Just remember: You have to run Torque Lite WITHIN Bluestacks.

Give it a try? It's all free. The most you'll lose is some time. You can always delete it if it doesn't work.

Another option is to get an old cell phone and connect it to a wireless access point or hotspot and then download Torque Lite. You don't need cell service for this. It should connect to the net. You just won't be able to text or make calls, etc.
And you don't need cell service to use Toque Lite once it's installed.
