Meaning a jack of all trades, and a master of none?

Sweet deal just tuned the truck, cant wait to take it for a spin. It wasnt too bad, didnt pull any fuses, but turned off the radio/A/C and interior lights...

Also how do you figure out the tire adjustment on 37s?

also I take it you can unplug it after the flash?

I have only done stand-alone or piggy-backs which are alot different then a flash set-up IMHO. Kind of ghey, but still good. Stand-alone are great!! Plus you can datalog easier on the go and a better system, along with the controller with a big screen.

Sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would I want to go to someone who specializes in Mustangs over someone who specializes in F150's? I don't care how experienced someone is with all kinds of motor makes and models if I don't own those vehicles they specialize in. Because I own an F150 I choose to go with the one guy in the business who specializes in tuning our trucks. Nothing against VMP or any other tuner out there or anyone who went a different route.

Even with that said, I have actually considered purchasing a tune from VMP to do a comparision between them and Troyer.

if you get a tune from Justin, it will only take about 7 days at the most

but, ill side note. All of the current big dawg tuners operate with the same software resources, they all use the same programs, and most all of them, Ask Mike Troyer if you want, are members of EFITO, they have their own "interal" info sharing resource. That being said, there are different levels of SCT tuning qualifications, from the guys who just sell canned stuff, to the guys who write files from scratch. The guy who tuned my car is one of those Level 5 "from scratch" tuners, and he did my setup in about a day. It doesnt matter how good of a tuner Mike Troyer is, but if it takes him 6-8 weeks to write a file for a truck, then he needs to start realigning his business, normal customers would not stand for that, which is why he did NOT get my money. I dont care what the "quality" reasons are. It took Justin Starkey 9 days from order to delivery to get me my Xcal3. Back before SCT was SCT, the future founder Jerry Wroblewski himself tuned an old Superchip(blue face) for me. It took 14 days from send off to file program, to delivery. On a purely professional basis, for as many trucks and tunes as Mike writes, 6-8 weeks is completely unacceptable.

Definitely not why he gets credit from me, I have no stake over on that other board. Mike gets credit from me because of how his tunes have made my truck drive. Like I said though, I may actually order one of Justin's tunes and give it a try and do a comparision. Just have to get it by the wife that I need even more custom tuning for the truck.

I have to ask though, is Mike 6-8 weeks behind due to slow writng or is he behind due to how many orders he gets.

the point im getting at with the forum section he has is that 98% of the F150 owners on most all of the forums either have bought into the marketing hype that is the Edge OR have gone with Mikes tuning and really dont know how any of it works. Mike says "6-8 weeks" or customers say that and everyone believes that a 2 month wait should be required. Hell, the guy who founded SCT would bang out something like 10-12 cars in a weekend and its not an AF1/Magnaflow/35in tire combo. Its 400-600hp mod motor cars with 15k engines. In terms of normal business, waiting 2 months for a 450$ product is insane.

I think it's the latter of the two. Of course I don't know that for sure.
