Thanks Stephen, I'll take a look at the contacts but pretty sure I cleaned em up when I put in the new coils.

There is no grinding, no clicking and it always starts. I was gonna put a new starter in but don't want to just throw a starter at it. Any ideas appreciated. I'll throw a YouTube video on when I get a chance. And when I say almost die it's not the motor struggling or sputtering it's like it wants to start correctly but won't.
This may sound odd, but do you leave your AC on when you shut your truck off? For some reason if my truck has it on when I go to start it, it won't always start, or it starts sluggishly. Battery is perfect as far as CCAs go. My 2003 old body style does too.

Nope A/c doesn't have a effect on it. Probably a coil I'm guessing, which kind of sucks because truck runs fine

Don't know what exactly was affected by the bad connection that was making it act that way but it is gone! Probably wont fix yours but its such a simple 5 minute job its worth a try right?
I had a similar issue that was caused by a battery that was on its way out. My symptoms were long crank times and speedo and rpm gauges that would randomly bounce.
