Why does my gas truck sound like a diesel

Seems to be the top sounds great. The noise is definitely bottom

I’m just concerned it can’t sell. I would absolutely get rid of it before putting a new engine in but who in their right mind would buy it as is. I guess I will just have to see what ford says.

Believe it or not, there folks who would buy it. Some people like a good project.

Thanks guys. Seems to be my own fault not taking it to ford in the first place. That first mechanic was usually so good, I had an old 94 pathfinder that he always fixed properly. Guess fords are bigger babies than Nissan’s.

I wouldn't say that. It's just the engines internals only like ford parts. I've got 238k on my 5.4. amazing vehicle

mines already at 208, and I do love it otherwise. but if I have to put a new engine in then what is next to go

its the 5.4 that doesn't like aftermarket parts.

Only other concern after a new engine would be your transmission needing a rebuild. You put a new motor in there, you likely won't have too many other big issues if the truck is in otherwise good shape. Just get a Ford reman or a PowerSource engine. Beats having to buy a new truck.
