Mine has always seemed somewhat sluggish. When I am first getting on the throttle it goes, but it always jumps about 2 times before smoothly accelerating. And like someone mentioned previously, when trying to accelerate at mid-range speeds, say 45 mph, you have to hammer on the pedal a lot more. I wouldn't say "under powered" but sluggish for sure.

I Like Tires
Have never felt underpowered. Even pulling that brick I call a V-Nose Enclosed Trailer. Had it on the scales at 7k lbs and was pulling it to the panhandle with a 40mph headwind getting 8mpg. It's got plenty of torque and power it just drinks a lot of gas doing it.

My 5.4 has never felt underpowered , even at 200,000 miles it still feels plenty strong.

Edge evolution.... I had a superchips and it has nothing on this one. It lugged around. I just put the edge on mine before i tore it down... set some stuff and advanced the timing by .25, Completely different animal. I almost pee'd myself, its definitely something in that stock tune that is horrible. No more going up a hill and saying "wonder if it will down..." by then its already shifted and pulling hard. Im in love

I used to have a Titan (stock) and it's night and day difference--power, torque, get up and go, all of it! Never been a chevy guy, but driven some, and they are not close to the Titan, but a lot of better than the 5.4. Well, bought a SCREW and I love it, but it feels like driving a golf cart around. This is what I think when most people say they are "under powered". I'm comparing stock to stock trucks. Now that I have put on bigger tires and a 2" level, I bought a tuner to compensate. Much better but still feels like I'm hauling a load of bricks around all the time. Just my opinion.
