Whistling sound

Hmmm. If you still have the old stock filter, I'd try re installing that one to see if the sound goes away. Maybe even buy a cheap, stock pleated filter to see if it helps. If not, that would eliminate the air filter. But so far, the filter sounds like the weak link here.

I cleaned the filter and maf sensor at the same time. I think it's just a look clamp making it whistle, I hope. This may be a dumb question becuase I don't know too much about being a mechanic. But could it be a vacuum leak?

Not really sure. I was assuming it was a loose clamp or something too... especially after you said you had things apart to clean it. Good luck hunting down the noise.

I test drove a truck at a dealer once that had the same k&n intake as you and it had a whistle like yours does and and it was just simply the aftermarket intake that did it. I have heard that they some times just have a whistle to them. I do agree though that it was VERY annoying!

Two common maladies. One is the bearing in the alternator, during cold temperatures (20s F and below). My truck does this until the engine compartment warms up. The description you gave sounds exactly like that. Another that I just heard about recently is the power steering pump. I'm not sure if that is temperature related or not.
