Default wheel sizes

hi. i have a 06 lariat. i wanted to get a second set of rims for winter. i have 18s, but there are a lot more options available in a 17" rim. i know there are a lot of these models that have 17s, but i wanted to make sure there weren't any factory packages that had bigger disks that prevented me from mounting a smaller rim.

it also seems like i could use 09-14 wheels as well? scouting craigslists and would like to include as many options as i can.

thanks

thanks. i saw that, but it seems like the focus there is "how big of tires will fit"... not much discussion on brake clearances. i didnt read all 11 pages though. figured it would be something someone could answer with minimal effort.

i did discover that the 09-14 wheels will fit. im just not sure what terms to use to figure out if there are bigger brakes on any models that would interfere with 17" rims.

Well, they don't have different brake parts. The F150s came stock with anywhere from 17" wheels to 22" wheels depending on options packages, so any of those should fit without issue. Issues would be tire size and clearing the body. Just make sure to have the speedometer recalibrated.

perfect, thanks. ill be using stock tire sizes. im just getting winter tires for increased on road capabilities, not trying to drive through drifts or anything extreme.

i guess im used to sporty type cars. a base model golf with 15" rims vs a gti with 17" rims. you can put the 17s on the base model, but you cant put the 15s on the gti... i was concerned that my truck with a towing package or something, might have had bigger brakes than the regular models. i figured if that was the case id see more mention of it, but i wanted to confirm.

thanks again.

It will work, just put on a set of 2015 17" factory wheels/tires. The brakes are the same across he line.
