Wheel Hub Bearings
I went to get an alignment today and was told to hold off because my passenger side hub bearing is worn. I dont know much about the bearings but I was quoted at about $150 a piece. My question is should I replace them both? They said just replace one and get the driver side when it needs to be done. Also is this something I should get a Ford OEM part or just go aftermarket and not worry? Thanks

Ford does not sell the bearing for the front hubs on 2wd seperate from the hubs. $150 is a rip off and I can get you them cheaper, including shipping them out to you. I would replace both of them. If 1 is gone and you have everything off any ways, you're just talking about taking a few extra steps to unpress the old ones and repress the new ones. Let me know if you want me to contact my connect thats in the biz and get a quote for the bearings. When I picked up my aftermarket rotors (no pressed bearings) I paid $90/bearing and bought 4 so I wouldnt have to try and find them. Like I said, let me know. I am pretty sure I can beat that $150 for the part. And its a direct Timken SET930 set (They discontinued making them but like i said, I gots a connect)

Bro that sounds awesome I am totally interested. They said that I could not buy the bearing by itself so thats great if I can do it without buying things I dont need. I might as well buy them both then. I would do this myself but I dont have a press so this local shop is going to take care of it for me at a good price. Let me know what I need to do. Thanks alot

you could just get someone to press them for you, shouldnt cost much at all and install yourself. it would help on cost of labor. wheels bearings are fairly each to change out. especially when theyre pressed.

That could be a good idea. Id rather do something myself then pay someone to do it unless its something crazy. I have no idea what I would have to do though with installing these bearings but im going to do some research.

Alrighty then all I have to do it get it pressed. Thanks for the info. I was thinking this process was going to cost me a chunk of cash but if I can save 150 bucks on the install that would be sick.
