Default What would you do...

Ok so with my tax return i was thinking about getting my trucked re-geared.... well to tell you the truth i am not even sure what i have now, and don't know anything about them.... i have a 2004 F150 supercrew 5.4 4wd... i have a 3"BL and 2.5" LK, i am rolling on 35x12.50r18 now and don't think i will ever go any bigger, might like the truck in the futur like 4" so only a total of 7".... so my question is if you guys where to regear what would you suggest for my set up, i have only had over sized tires on for about 20k miles... truck is at 120k now... but i just bought brand new TOYO's and i can feel the weight, so i am just wondering what you would suggest, any input is appreciated... i also have a edge, but am wanting to switch it into a PHP would you suggest doing that first or regear then do that to the programmer? thanks

4.56 would be the best for 35's also you can send you programmer to php to get it custom tuned so i would wait till after the gears. when I lived in texas the 4wheelparts did gears for $500 for front and the same for the rear plus the cost of what ever locker/limited slip you want.

so it would be over a grand then for both front and rear... guess i need to save up more... would you just suggest having it done, does it make that much of a difference? like able to feel it or you just know that it is better on the mechanics of the truck?

You would get a lot more performance from getting gears instead of switching to a PHP tune, I wouldn't waste my money on that. Which is coming from a guy with there tunes. 4.56 is the way to go for 35s.

You can definitely feel is and it helps keep more strain off the engine and tranny when it's turning all the rotating mass.
