Default What type of antifreeze do you use.

I was checking fluids in my cars and truck today. My f150 2005 5.4 4x4 lariot is a little low on engine coolant. What do you use? Is "mixes with all types" af ok, or do I go and get some ford approved af? I know dexcool and the old green are big NO NO's. (I used to sell auto parts 10 years part time at one of the big chains and i think I would know as I was pretty good at what I did....Stop laughing now...)

Thanks,

bernie

Motorcraft gold or equivalent Zerex. I used Zerex G-05.

I drained and filled x2 when I bought my 05 w/ 100k on it 2 years ago. Used the old green ethylene glycol to refill. 50/50 is generally good down to -40F.

When I did my coolant drain and fill, I used Zerex G-05 at a 50/50 ratio. Cheaper than the MC Gold.

Motorcraft gold is $19.95 at my local Ford shop and if you cut it 50/50 with distilled water that makes it About $11 a gallon.
