Default What trailer hitch?

When I bought my truck 6 years ago it didnt have a hitch on it. I'm planning on buying a boat and need to buy a hitch. Just curious on what a good hitch to buy? I'm not ever going to tow anything crazy. Just a boat and an enclosed trailer

Look on ebay or craigslist. I live in Ohio and bought an oem hitch for my last truck for like $50 and that was shipped from Florida. Try a salvage yard and see what they are asking. Just some ideas

If you decide to buy a new hitch I buy all my trailer and towing stuff from

www.etrailer.com

They have very good prices and ship fast.

Good Luck!

I put an oem on mine. It tucks up so all you see is the reciever square. All the aftermarket hitches the full bar hangs below the bumper and I didn't care for that.

I went with a Curt, good quality and a decent price if you watch for one on sale. Mine came from JC Whitney but I have seen them on a lot of sites. Shipping was included so watch out for that, could add $$$ if you have to add it. Fed Ex guy delivered it early morning because he wanted to get it off his van, usually I am the last stop because I live in the country, lol.

Curt is always a good company to go with. almost everything is solid steel, and american made. can't go wrong.
also, here is a good guide on figuring out the correct hitch for what you need it for:

Oddly enough, on my wifes old escape, I went with one from uhaul and installed in myself. At the time, it had a better review then the others I was looking at. It took me about 20 minutes to install by myself. I liked the look of it better than the rest too. It was rounded off and looked good on there.
