The only time I ever get close to the MAX pressure is if I'm hauling a big load.
I'd be careful about overinflating them, that'll contribute to better mpg but the center tread will probably cup or wear prematurely & ultimately ride like crap.

I'm running 275/70/18, cooper s/t Maxx which is a 10 ply tire. Currently running 50 psi up front and 45 psi in rear. This is for everyday driving not hauling weight.

I run Michelin P275-65-18 and the Max Pressure is 44. I use 44 in the front and 40 in the rear. The main reason is tire wear. If I run lower pressures the tires tent to wear at the edges and not the middle. Only load is me and about 500lb's of tools in the bed. I got 68k out of the last set but I go around curves kind of fast.

i got 55-60k out of the FACTORY tires that came on my truck(dot stamp was in 04 on the sidewall) running the 32-30 pressure setup. factory bfgs keep in mind. i ran 35/35 in it for a while, fronts wore kinda even but the center in the back wore before the edges in about 10k.

I've had my BFG 315/70/17's for 48000 miles. Even wear with rotations and balancing every 5k miles, alignment once a year, running 32 front and 30 rear. Remember, too high of pressure will wear the centers prematurely but better milage. Too low of pressure and the shoulders will wear prematurely and handling will suffer. Bigger tires does not always mean more pressure, usually a little lower.
