What are these lift kit abbreviations??
 

Saw a members info on here like this:
Fabtech 6" + 2" AS, 5"rr blks + 1.5" sh

Does anybody know what " 2" AS " stands for? I assume that the " 5" rr blks" mean that he has 5" blocks installed on the rear. But also, what might " 1.5" sh" mean?

I like the guys lift, but I'm trying to figure out what all he has in it.

Fabtech 6" is the fabtech lift
+ 2" AS means he added a 2" level kit from Autospring to the Fabtech
5"rr blks are 5" Rear blocks

1.5"sh might be an add-a-leaf, but I don't really know

Now I'm wondering something... will those blocks cause the rear to be really stiff? In fact, what is the best option to go with in adding a little more lift to a 6" suspension lift for the most comfortable ride? I mean... are blocks better, or is add-a-leaf more comfortable? Just trying to keep the softest ride options on top of a 6" Fabtech lift.

Blocks are a cheap and easy way to get more lift. I'm surprised the guy you quoted has 5" blocks, thats putting a lot of stress on his rear suspension. I'd suggest going to a local suspension/drivetrain shop and getting an add-a-leaf to start with. Some guys (OGTerror I think is one) just have new springs bent to match their front lift.
For the softest ride, I would look at Ranchos quik-lift and the RS9000 series shocks. They're adjustable on the fly and will let you tweak them for the best ride.

My situation is that I am about to do the 6" Fabtech and after seeing pics of "like" lifts, I'm wonding if I may want to add an additional 2-3" for better clearance (and a little more height to the truck). So, I' m just curious as to what my options would be to add to the Fabtech, yet keeping the most comfortable ride possible.
Also, I sure don't want the front end up heigher than the rear like I see some trucks out there. I'd prefer it level. I am assuming a 2" leveling kit could follow the 6" Fabtech to level out the truck and provide that added height?

A 2" block up front will put you level in the front. It won't really change how it rides at all. Just plan on upgrading your shocks all around when you add the lift.
