Default What are these?

I don't have a photo ( but will get one ) but what are the small tubes in the engine compartment with the white plastic/rubber tips on them? They run over the top of the wheel wells but on my truck they are just loose and not connected to anything. Are they part of the brake wear warning system?

What brake wear warning system ? Don't believe we have such . Most likely vac tubes for 4wd drive actuators you don't have . You don't have the iwe solenoid or the reserve vac cannister or check valves for that system either .

Ah ok. I've had vehicles where there is a wire that pokes through the back of the brake pad and when the pad wears down enough so that the wire makes contact with the rotor it completes the circuit and a warning light comes on. But it's not a wire so that was a silly idea anyway.

I have 4x4 though. Why would I not have those components you mentioned?

That might be the abs wheel speed sensor that caused that light to come up. They work for traction control too I believe.

Okay you are 4x4 that shoots my post down . I am just so used to those capped off things for 2wd . Well you need to learn your 4x4 system controls before you have a problem . There is a sticky dealing with the IWE system at the top . its only a matter of time on 4x4 that if you address it early you can save your self from grief .
So I have no idea about you item of interest . PICs please .

Can I just leave them off or should I reconnect them or plug them?
