Default What Struts? Near future lift kit plans.

I have a 2006 F150 5.4L 4WD.
Extended Cab Short box.

I have plans to lift the truck by the end of the summer.
Debating between a 4" or 6", leaning towards a rough country.

Anyways right now my strut is squeaking a lot. I have money to replace the struts but not quite yet for the lift. The strut squeak is terrible to listen to.

What struts should I put in that will work well with the lift? Suggestions and discussions welcome. I want to acquire all the information I can get.

The truck is my daily driver and does get used on the highway with slight off-roading.

Thanks in advance for any inputs or advice.

that depends on what lift you buy.. If you buy a spacer lift .. you can use your stock size struts.

That is the lift I was looking towards unless someone had an opinion otherwise?

after about 6 or 7 months of installing the kit I also installed 1" lift shackles because I was nose high, but I prefer the rear a slight higher.

Yeah I don't prefer it to be nose high either.

Are you running your stock struts?

Edit: I don't mean to hijack the thread. But I figure this could be a decent question to be considered for all buying a lift.

If you buy a spacer kit, can you eventually put 6" struts? Or are you stuck with the spacer for the life of the lift?

Yes I'm running my factory struts, rough country keeps all components at factory height so I soon plan on buying new struts and keeping the springs. Look up the 6" kit on rough country.com and it will explain it to you
