So when I turn on my AC in my truck, it works fine. But when I hit the "air recirculation" button, it doesn't do anything.

The light does come on that shows it's engaged but again, airflow does not change and it does nothing.

Does anyone know what I should look at for this?

There's a blend door that is either no longer functioning or has something blocking its movement. Possibly both.

You have the auto ac. When the climate control is in auto mode the recirculate button doesn't do anything, although it lights up. If you select the fan speed and the air direction, thus taking the system out of auto mode, the recirculate door will function normally

OMG...........:censo red: I can't believe it was that simple! I have started taking my dash apart and everything lol..
So I turned the key to the on position and checked the door and it was set to recirculation. I took it off auto and sho nuff.. Moved to outside air, I hit the recirc - button and boom right back to it..

I'm gonna go assemble my truck now and go have a beer lol

So when in auto, you never know whether it is opened or closed, based on its own determination of need?

I assume it determines itself when to use recirculating air. Although I can't say I ever hear it change over or notice it because the fan speed it still too high and noisy when it happens

BryanKephart I never considered that .
I always thought it works either way . That really sucks, it should work either way, When it is close to 100 you don't want outside air coming in . That makes it too hard to cool .Cooling your inside air at 70 degrees beats trying to cool outside air at 100.
Plus if you are running thru smoke or bad smells you don't want outside air . Thats a human decision not one that the auto ac can make . It always aggravates me that it won't stay in recirculate , everytime I start it up I have to hit the button .
I don't allow smoking or fa--ts inside so I like to leave it on recirculate as it's hot most of the time here .
It should be programmable instead of fixed to someone else's idea. I guess if I bought a new one for 60k I might get my wish . Ain't gonna happen !

From the owner's manual:
Recirculation control: Press to activate/deactivate air
recirculation in cabin. Recirculated air may reduce the amount of time to
cool down the interior of the vehicle and may also help reduce undesired
odors from reaching the interior of the vehicle. Recirculation can be
engaged manually in any other airflow selection except defrost.
Recirculation may turn off automatically.

No I agree with you. I would like to be able to choose myself. You figure in the non-auto climate controls , the max ac function uses recirculate by default. But on normal ac you can chose. Who knows what the idea was there back in 04-08

I just wished the light came on in auto to let you know if it were on or off!
