Default What is this hose?

Anyone have a part number or know what this hose is? It is dry rotted and looks like it needs to be replaced. What about the oil pump part number and pick up tube?

That unit should be a solenoid that's part of the evap purge system. If I'm right then the line you're touching is a vacuum line. I think the unit is called the EVR Solenoid. The vacuum line goes from the EGR Valve to the EVR Solenoid.

Is your truck a manual or automatic tranny?

Thank you. That should get me in the right direction. I think I can find the part number through AllDataDIY or get the name of the hose in the Haynes manual.

You got me where I need to be. The 5.4 does not have the EGR though. Only the 4.2 and 4.6 2V. Thanks again!!!
Looking at the picture below...does this have fuel pressure or can I just change it?

It's a vacuum line, safe to change. I replaced it on mine, no problem. My hose was all deterioated and crumbling apart. I picked up some emission hose at the parts store and re-used the factory ends, doesn't really have to be a factory formed hose.
