What Do I Need?
Hi, I currently own a 08 F-150 5.4L XLT. Not too many performance mods. I have the big three: SCT tuner, K&N CAI, and a Magnaflow exhaust. Everything else is stock. I'd like to increase my truck's top speed to 120-130 mph. I can't go past 118 right now because my tires aren't rated high enough and would simply come apart if I were to go any faster So, what performance parts do I need so I can go past 118? Upgraded tires is one obviously.

Is it 2wd or 4wd?
What gears do you have?
Lowering it and adding a front valance to prevent air from going beneath it would help reduce drag also.

12 Second Truck
Put a Whipple on it. However if its high speed you want you better be ready to put some money in the drivetrain. They are not set up for high speeds. Plus speeds that high in a truck aren't near as fun as when your in a car thats made for it and can actually handle well. Yes you can lower it and put an air damn on it but it still won't respond to high speed moneuvers like a vehicle should at that speed. Thats when you roll over and someone gets to dig you out of your truck.

Could I get away with a Roush suspension and upgraded tires if I wanted to push it to 120-125?
On a sidenote, is it also true that trucks such as the silverado and titan come out stock with a limiter at 120?? If not, I guess my friends are loaded with BS...
I'm not really concerned with highway driving since the only time I go past 100 is on the track.

Lighter driveshaft if possible, gear it correctly...probably want to drop to a lower number ratio gear so you can get top speed, but the "get-up-and-go" factor will be missing, suspension, brakes to slow it down after going that fast, a long stretch of road...like a runway, and I'd supercharge it with a whipple as stated previously.

Trucks arn't made for that high of a speed. And how are you doing 118mph on a track? I highly doubt you can get up that fast at a 1/4 unless your supercharged..
