What do I do?
I was looking to put a body lift on my truck but it seems so hard to find an inexpensive one online. It is a 2WD so I wont be doing a whole lot of off roading in it, I just wanted it lifted for looks more or less and maybe get off road a little. I plan on either putting 285/55/R20 Nitto Terra Grappler or BFG All Terrain A/T KO on the stock 20" rims that came with it. Any suggestions on what to do..and kinda fairly cheap?

Cheapest route is leveling kit in the front with blocks in the back. depends what year your truck is...older than 04 u need torsion keys instead of leveling kit. tires just depend on the cheapest u can find

Id say forget a body kit, its a truck not a civic. Especially if you life it its gonna look ridiculous in my opinion to have a lifted truck with a body kit. just my .02 its your truck after all and you should do what you like and not others. oh and I would go with the BFGs

I agree, no body kit... EVER! But I don't think he mentioned a body kit.

Does anyone know where I can get a picture of an F150 with a 3" lift kit side x side with an F150 with a leveling kit? I wanna see if I can tell the difference so I can get a better idea of what I want to do.

I'm running 285/70/R17 on my stock 05 STX...it is a 4x4 though...but I have a ton of tire clearance left to go bigger.
If your just going for looks thats one thing but if those tires fit stock I would just leave it stock. Theres acually no benefit to having a leveling kit/body lift/suspension lift other than tire clearance/looks, some even hurt your performance. Cheapest substitute is cutting a little out of the fenders and putting some fender flares on which can even be custom painted from the factory to match your vehicles paint granted its a stock Ford/GM/dodge/etc color. |
