Default What is This Disconnected Wire?!

I was scrounging around under my truck trying to figure out where I am going to mount the compressor and tank for my air horn.

Turns out that I found a connector that was not connected. See the pictures below:





The connector is full of dirt, so it has obviously been disconnected for quite a while. It looks like it is going into something to do with the steering.

If you need more pictures let me know. I will do my best to get them to you ASAP.

Looks like the power steering line pressure switch.

A drop in rpm at full lock. The purpose of the switch is to maintain a steady rpm throughout power steering pressures.

So that could explain the stalling in reverse at full turn in either direction. Interesting...

Any guess as to why someone would unplug? Perhaps a bad switch that was causing a check engine light?
