i just fixed mine after months and months of wondering what it was, everytime i replaced a part i would wait and see if the dinging came back and this time it didnt, as i said in my last post it is under the spare tire near the fuel tank and its a fuel pump control module i will get a part number as soon as i can but it fixed the dinging issue. part was 225.00 at dealership man am i ever happy, god knows how many hours i spent and $$$ on parts trying to fix this issue, guy at ford dealer told me they always keep them in stock because its a very common issue. hope this helps you guys

My mother in laws 01 Ranger does that too, even when the seatbelts are on and doors are closed. No indicators flash on the instrument cluster and it does it about every 5 mins. Its annoying as hell.
