Just got my new Yukon 4.56 gears on both axles Friday!! Love them already. Can't wait for my SCT Livewire and custom tunes! I had both axles done with a Mag-Hytec rear diff cover at $2K out the door. Minor whine, but the garage told me to call in a week and if I have any complaints they will fix it. I would expect there to be some minor whirls while the sets are broken in, but they said they did a great job at getting everything shimmed. The first thing I noticed was how "relaxed" my 3V is now... She is in OD at 35-40mph and doesn't downshift if Im going up a hill. Very nice! When I give it wot, it still lags but once it hits 3rd gear WOOOW what a difference. The custom tune will give me that in 1st I'm sure. Either way, i ultimately did it for better towing performance.

I geared my 2wd myself. $200 and 3 hours with a buddy. We were chill, too. Hardest part was getting the pinion out. After I youtubed it, I realized you just beat the $#!1 out of it and wala! It falls out and you can get to the rest. Shimming it, measuring it, torquing it and all that wasn't that hard. You have to change your gear oil after 500 miles though. Then you check the wear pattern on your gear's teeth. If the oval has a good patter in the middle of the ring's teeth, like mine did, then you're good. I dropped 4:10s in cause I put 20's on and it got sluggish. It woke me up and I get better mileage now. I can manage to do a brake stand and it chirps when I'm in the gas changin from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. It's a totally different truck.

I think it would be expensive but awesome. With those gears and tires you'd be under factory gearing, I believe. You'd have the gearing to go even bigger. Much bigger actually. Like 6"-9" lift with 37's or so. Like I said though, expensive.
