Finally made my nagging power steering whine disappear. I tried using a baster to remove as much fluid as possible and add new (2 quarts total over time) with no noticable improvement. Did some inter web research and found advice on Bob is The Oil Guy about B&G Products Powering Steering Conditioner. Bought some on eBay and it actually worked to silence it.

Also ordered a new set of the new Michelin Defender LTX tires. The current LTX MS2's are @ 48,000 miles and were great tires.

I thought I had power steering issues as well but it turned out to be a bad tensioner for the belt. Sure enough, changed it and the power steering whine went away. Also, you will love the defenders if you enjoyed the MS2's. My coworker has them on his super duty and loves them. Those tires do like to catch rocks though but I'm sure you are already aware of that one.

Took my wife out for lunch at Logans. Then cruised around for a little while before we headed home.

Waved goodbye to the wife this morning. She's driving my girl this week while I drive her Highlander to my camp out. Her Highlander is better on gas and since I'm driving a bunch to get to Missouri, it made sense.

Default Washed her

It was a busy weekend, washed the wife's car, my Chevy Silverado, My toy F-150, and while the stuff was still out my wife's boss showed up and her car was a mess, so that got washed too... Hopefully they stay clean enough this week so I can put some wax on them this weekend, minus the bosses car. Took the time to put small pieces of gorilla tape on the little slice in the tonneau cover. I have to schedule some time to get the oil done in my toy. It is way overdue, the question I have is with 193k on the odometer and no idea what the previous owners used, do you guys think it would be worth it to switch to synthetic oil? Of course I want to use the Motorcraft filter. Just wondering if it is worth the extra money to switch to synthetic oil at this point? I only paid $500 for the truck (salvage title.)

Another question I have is what kind of lubricant can I use to stop the window squeal when going up? The front two windows are quiet as church mice going down, but howl like an alley cat going up.

Began installing my eibach pro kit. Rears went well, but having a ton of trouble with the front. Getting the spring compressor to compress the shocks has been quite the bear. I’m probably going to have to outsource that part. A local place said they’d do it for $100-125.
