Default what brand gas?

my gas cap says ford reccomends BP gas. Now is this just a contract thing with BP or is it essential i use BP gas. I question this because the gas station down the street from me is a shell and is ALWAYS cheaper than everyone else.

I usually fill up at a Shell or Kroger. (10 cents off a gallon )

I like to put one tank of premium a month.. then I just use regular.

What does that have to do with the fact that BP produces E85 fuel and that Ford sells them trucks for fleet work?

Yes, mileage is negatively effected due to the 15% gasoline reducing the efficiency of ethanol among multiple other factors.

Gas is not the same what happens between the refinery and your tank is a mystery but I check my milage every tank have for years and have seen as much as 2mpg differents.Water in station tanks is common. In the northeast I only buy from irving stations never had a bad tank refined in canada.

Shell first choice - Chevron second - all others fall in behind. Every manufacturer has their own ad-pak which is actually added to the gasoline at the load rack and blended into the tanker truck. This is why you can see off-brand trucks pulling out of a nationally branded terminal. Shell puts a great deal of importance and has years of experience formulating premium fuels with premium additives - witness Ferrari and F1 sponsorship. Chevron's Techron is also top quality.
