Question What all do I need after the lift and wheels?

With a 6" lift and 35" tires, will i need to get new gears and upgrade my brakes or is the stock gears and brakes fine? i have an 07 xlt 4x4.

planning on going 6" rough country with 35's. i just dont want to destroy my stock gears or anything.

thanks

you'll be fine with the stock stuff.... you just won't enjoy it very much
definitely new gears and probably bigger rotors
maybe 4.10 possible higher

i think most people are gonna say 4.56 gears. i dont really hear of many people doing anything different brake-wise though. you will be fine with stock stuff just like he said you wont enjoy it as much due to the power loss

I recommend the 4.56 gears. That's what I'm running and I couldn't be happier. (Gearing it will also save your tranny from the added stress of the bigger tires )

I ended up going with bigger, slotted and dimpled rotors and performance pads. All that helps do is make your brakes last longer lol.

Sorry for gravedigging this but I still am yet to pull the trigger, what kind of mpg loss did you see, or with those 4.56 gears did you get near stock numbers back? btw raider your truck is awesome

Well since this thread has been brought back from the dead..... I ordered 35's for my truck and I believe I have 4:11 gears. Is that good or is it worth the money to put in 4:56's?

I am a firm believer in 4.56 gears for 35's... some disagree, but I drive mostly highway and only pull 2100 rpms at 75mph. If it saves your tranny and motor from the excess stress, why not?

If you have 4.11's i would not regear .... unless you plan on going bigger
