In my humble opinion leaving a hitch on your pickup with no trailer attached looks goofy. And they are then just a shin buster.I only put mine on when I am towing. I would suggest if the fellow had the hitch out of the receiver the other fellow would have sustained less or no damage because of a greater contact area.

n was the worst....but id rather pull a peter griffin for 5 minutes than have a smashed bumper lol
