Weird Gauge Twitching at Startup

Twitching gauges on a Ford are a sure sign the battery is going to fail. The last time this happened, the gauges twitched once, and I knew I had to buy a battery. I stopped for something, and that was it. It wouldn't start, no interior lights, no radio, no nothing. It failed that quick. You are lucky that it is giving you that much notice. When they fail like that, you can't even jump them off.
Thanks everyone for the input!

Just thought I'd post back here for everyone. I wound up replacing my battery finally, the 2nd week of December, and on top of starting much easier than I ever imagined, no more gauge twitching!!!
CONFIRMED that a bad battery causes it.
And just as a note - the battery never did ever die to death on me, but the day I replaced it, I did need a jump because of leaving the lights and stereo on while in a store for ~15 mins...

Lead acid batteries don't recover well
Once you drain a lead acid too far its on its last legs . Batteries are lucky to last 3/ 4 years . The summer heat kills them too , the first cold spell reduces the battery output and shows up a bad battery . We kept our batteries in the military in a freezer to preserve them , but you have to thaw them out before using . you can do the same by keeping flashlight batteries in refrigerator or freezer .
My factory subwoofer system will kill my battery quick .
We all hate to drop a hundred or more on a battery but there is no way out. unless you want to get stranded at the worst time . .

Sounds to me like your instrument cluster is starting to go.
Does your odometer sometimes not light up, 4x4 and lo range lights, abs and brake lights turn on, tach and speedo go dead, and dash do weird things in general?
Radio stays on after opening the door or light not come on when opening the door?
All of these problems are related to the instrument cluster

I've had an issue that started about a month ago, but it was so intermittent until the last week that I thought it was just a weird one-off, but now it's happening quite frequently and I'd like to figure out what it is before it becomes a real problem.
Now, I've never seen anything like this before, but I have some ideas of what it could be. Can the great knowledge of this forum lend a hand?
Essentially, sometimes when I start my truck after it's been sitting for a while, when I start up, all of my gauges will pretty much "bounce" at the bottom of the needle travel for about 5 seconds or so, then just go back to normal. It's best shown in this video I managed to grab.

Any ideas?
