Default Water saturating under driver side floor mat

When it rains, I have water puddling and saturating the carpet under my feet on the driver's side floor. When I've been driving in the rain for a while, it ends up saturating so bad that it drains into the wiring track under the panel where the door closes along the left side on the seat on the floor. I usually notice it after I've been driving in rain for a while, but one time I thought about it on a quick ride down the road and took a look. I noticed a small spot starting right about where your heels go on the floor right in the middle of the foot area. It was obvious that the water did not drain or drip from somewhere above, because the carpet was dry all around the spot. It was UNDER the floor mat. Instead it appears to be seeping from a hole through the floor board. Before I pull panels off and start ripping carpet back, does anyone know if there is a plug in this area for some reason. I never noticed it until after I had a 3 inch body lift put on. I wondered if they forgot to put a plug back in. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes there are holes that ford covered with tape, located almost dead center of the floorboards. U can see daylight through them so road spray will eventually soak through he tape. Peel up the carpet and padding and you'll see the black gaffers tape... I peeled the tape up and used spray foam then put new tape over the hole. You can prolly find rubber plugs somewhere... I've been chasing down rain water leaks too...

Today while changing the 12v power outlet fuse i noticed my passenger side floorboard feels wet, but since its been below freezing here for most of last week and weekend its frozen. I dont think its the same issue as the OP because i drove it two days ago but it was bone dry outside. I also dont think its a bad weather strip because the door, dash and aftermarket deep channel floor mats I have are all dry. The a/c in my dodge was leaking in the passenger floor due to a plugged line but the a/c in the F150 hasnt been on in quite awhile so Im not sure where it could be coming from. When we get a warmer day Ill have to do some more investigating.

Check your 3rd brake lights and the back window seals they are notorious from leaking .

Thanks 08f150xlt - kinda strange that all they'd put under there is tape. Seems like it should be a plug. Nevertheless, guess I need to get busy pulling it apart and reseal that sucker. Stuffs gonna start rottin if I don't. Thanks!!

I have the same issue, in the exact same spot. I also have a fair amount of water underneath the drivers doorsill, which scares me more than the water under the floormat since the wiring harness basically sits in water when that doorsill fills up. I also noticed that there are holes in the doorsill that look like they could surely let water in if you're driving in the rain, carwash, etc. Awful design in my opinion.

There SHOULD be plugs in the wire chase that can be removed and put back in, drain plugs basically... If yours are gone that's not good and yes spray from wet roads will get into the wire chase...

Third brake light leaks commonly make the headliner wet or you'll notice water running on the inside of the back glass,it will eventually get into the wire chase from the rear too

I'm still trying to find the entrance point for my leak, if I pour water on the bottom corner of my windshield on the passenger side I can watch it run behind the kick panel by the fuse panel and into the wire chase. Ive siliconed and spray foamed a good bit of possible areas behind the battery and around the windshield clips but still have some water leaking in.... I've created a couple threads on this issue... It's getting better but not 100% leak free, yet! Still actively trying to solve it...

I just found the electrical plug going from the pillar to the door leaking, came down behind my fusebox and onto the floor. Took me forever to find this, hope it might help
