Default Warning fuel pump contorl module

Just a friendly warning to you guys. My friend who drives a 2005 f150 recently had a major problem with his truck. Apparently his fuel pump control module (common problem with the f150s) broke but instead of just breaking it actually shorted and blew his ECM. So just as a friendly eating I would go ahead an check yours (under the spare) to see if it is broken as no not experience this major failure.

Mine went out in me when I was going through the carwash. Guess it finally had enough. Thankfully no ECM damage.

The unit is only about 60 pesos IIRC and plug n play swap out. I got a little nervous so changed mine out before any problem arose on my 04.

It's a good call to do that. I had mine go out recently and if I hadn't been near the shop it would have been problematic because the truck can't start with out it

I had to have my truck towed to work, which was about 4 miles away. Next day had the new module and had it replaced in less than 5 minutes, rusty bolts and all.

Mine did the same. If your truck dies or sputters after going through the under-spray...very good chance it's shot. Mine had a walnut sized hole in it exposing the circuit board. Amazingly after it dried out it still worked.

I heard about this problem and figured since I had 65k miles, I'd just replace it without checking it first. Sure enough, when I took it out, it just about fell apart in my hands. I figured I'd rather spend 60 now rather than 2 or 3 hundred at a shop on the road.
