Yeah I don't have a tuner. I do want one though.
It didn't help my attitude when I got just absolutely worked by my friend's stock Z71 with 35's... (on a closed course and all that). Not to mention I had a large head start, lol. Oh well.

Ok, that's what was confusing me, since I could see the connectors going through the valve covers and everything. Any idea when they ended the old way? My 07 is a February build...

Sorry not to have replied before now but I havent don the rockers and adjusters, if you get as far as taking the valve covers off and have the money i would do them and the phasers if you have done the timing compnents already. If you can wrench on a somewhat medium level it want be a problem just time consuming.

Recently picked up a 2005 with 37k on it, and the more reading I do the more paranoid I become about the Cam Phaser issue. Currently don't have a issue, did notice a bit of a tick when restarting warm. Wondering if replacing the solenoids to the latest rev would be a decent preventative step. Parts are under a $100 bucks so wondering if this is a no brainer.

thanks
Ag

Did you feel like there was a power loss with the new solonoids? As mentioned by the other members in this thread? Just curious.

I had revised phasers and vcts installed and don't notice any loss. Just sounds like a healthy v8. Smoother on wot than before

I'm still trying to change the driver's side solenoid, but this TX heat is so unforgiving, barely even got to change my passenger side. I don't wanna be driving with the original VCTS on the passenger side and the revised newer one on the passenger side though...lol.

Sure it's not the injectors? I changed my VCT's and my diesel tick went away but the injectors are pretty loud. Nothing wrong with them, but clearly they weren't designed to be quiet.

I'll post a pic of what I had...phasers and timing chain looked good to go so I'm not changing mine.
