Used Lift questions
Hey guys - I'm pretty new here and a total know nothing when it comes to lifting trucks, etc.
I recently adopted an 06 4wd F150 xlt ext. cab that's bone stock and am planning on fixing her up. Been shopping for a six inch lift but hesitant to dump a ton of cash into a truck with 105k miles on it.
Randomly enough a guy in the same small dirty town I live in in AZ is selling a used pro comp kit with the upgraded coil overs etc. and for very cheap (800 OBO).
My question - he said it's got about 70k on it. Is that a concern? Also he claims it will fit a 2wd or 4wd (it came off his 4wd) but that sounds strange to me. I see pro comp sells both 2wd and 4wd specific kits - but can't figure out the difference (noob). I'm sure there have to be some measurements that just aren't the same. Could you tell easily looking at the parts? I know nothing about this seller or his truck...
I know the parts list is a concern of course but am I nuts to buy this thing to save 800 bucks or so? It sure would help my budget for the rest of the build...any thoughts would be great and if I am out of line posting this here please let me know and I'll remove or move - couldn't find too much similar in the search...but the again I am new to this stuff. Thanks -

Go new.
If it's cheap it usually isn't good, and if it's good it won't be cheap.
Just save the cash and get whatever lift you want.
Find one with a good factory warranty.
Good luck!

800 for the kit and the coilover upgrage....its worth taking a look at. 70 on a kit is no big deal if its not beat to ****. The coilovers will tell you what you need to know. Look at the shaft seals for leaks. I worked at 4 wheel parts for 9 years and that is a solid kit for these trucks. There are differences betweek 2 and 4 wheel drive kits, But since its 4 wd and ur putting it on a 4wd there will be no issue. Id reccomend printing instructions and kit parts list off the pro comp website and make sure its all there.

No prob man! If you need anything you can pm me! I'm glad to be of some help. BDS makes great kits man and they have a "no bs lifetime warranty" haha they actually call it that. As long as you buy brand new and you are the original purchaser.

[QUOTE="IMD928;3990481"] Thanks - I appreciate that. I took a quick look at your profile - did you end up picking up a Zone kit? Their 6" is my #1 choice right now if I buy new. Curious your thoughts on it. And I will for sure try to
No not yet, I'm going to run a bds 6" lift with the fox front coilovers and rear fox shock upgrade package.
A little more in cost but I figured I need new shocks anyway.
I'm going to run 37x13.50 Nitto mid grapplers and some black 20x10 fuel assaults.
Saving though haha.

Zone and bds are the same company.
Zone has solid kits a lot of the guys on the forum are running their kits. There is also a nitro shock upgrade kit with the zone 6" as well.
You can't go wrong with zone especially because the cost is low.
