Default Used lift questions

Im sure this has been asked before but Im still confused.

I found a used Rancho 4" lift kit about 20 miles east of me. I've wanted a 4" instead of a 6 for a few reasons and this ones only $700 instead of the $1300 new price.

1. What should I look for on this used lift?

2. What questions should I ask?

3. Should I get my own shocks? If so what type.

4. Would a lift from a 2007 work on a 2004?

5. would it make a huge difference from my 2.5" leveling kit?

Thank you guys.

Well here is my 06 with the Rancho kit and a few extras to add about an inch. The Rancho kit is for the 04-08 model (before they stopped producing it) so it should be ok for you. Go on ranchos site and I think it may be still listed. So you can either get a pic or a list of what you are supposed to get. There are alot of bolts and brackets, so you want to be sure the guy has everything. You need new shocks when you add this kit. I got the Rancho RS9000's when I did mine. But you can use others. Like I said this kit is no longer produced, so the are like gold if you can find one. If you cant find a parts list pm me and either I could fax or send you the list from my kit.

Here's the install PDF and parts list

http://www.gorancho.com/assets/instr...pdf/88088b.pdf

Only thing that is different on the kits are the brake lines. The 04-05 has the straight fittings and the 06-08 has the 90's. Not a big deal can always get your stock lines extended if they are not the right ones for your truck.
