Default Update on my 1st F-150: 2007 5.4 3V Screw 4WD

I have had my truck for 2 months now. In the process of putting about 4,000 miles on it, I have come to a pretty solid conclusion.... I LOVE THIS TRUCK!
I know some on here have had issues with their 5.4 3V, but hopefully my 2007 will be ok. This truck is awesome. It has handled everything I have loaded on it without any issues. Hell, half of the time you can't even tell you are pulling/hauling anything. When I am in traffic and need to "move it" to avoid getting stuck, the truck responds like a sports car. In summary, I am glad I picked the F-150 and not the Silverado I was looking at initially.

Mine is a daily driver. I put around 110 a day on it. I changed to full syn oil too. It may be my imagination, but I can tell the difference since I changed (about 3000 miles ago).

I'm glad you love it. My '07 has been the best truck I have ever owned. Bought it brand new and now have 186k miles on it. I put about 120 miles a day on it.

To elaborate...I have spoke to plenty of Ford techs and ex Ford techs, a common theme is "don't baby these trucks". I see threads about fuel mileage, accelerator on egggshells, under 2k rpms etc. This is great to pick up a few extra MPGs but at what cost? These engines were designed to work.

Five months into my '07 FX2 SC 5.4l and loving it. As was mentioned above, it tows like a champ and is fairly quick off the line in traffic. I stopped worrying about gas since the vehicle it replaced required premium so there's a 40 cent per gallon savings right there.

I did baby it for the first month or so, just trolling through traffic, but now my foot's in it more often than not. I tow the trailer for our boy scout troop which maybe weighs 2,000lbs so that's nothing.

My only gripe which I'll deal with when I have time, is a lot of rattle in the doors over bumps. It's a supercab so maybe some of that's normal, but there is something loose in the drivers side back door. I hate rattles so it will be dealt with.

Also, yea it's an FX2, complete with the low airdam and running boards, but it's still fine in the fields I hunt. A little lift in the front to get the nose away from the dirt might be in works but not until I run across something that tweaks it.

I've changed my mind about an aftermarket muffler too. I wanted a little more sound but really appreciate the quiet when going into a soybean field at 3am to set up for a days hunt.

93,750 miles. Only mod is a K&N filter in the box.

Weekender.

This post was baaaad. I've been trying to keep it under 2k to try and make her last. But I will accept your green light
